She Should Have Been Home Anyway!

Five years ago, in Frenchtown, NJ, that little girl tried to sing An Awesome God at her school talent show.

But the government agents there wouldn't allow it - hiding behind the alleged *separation of church and state*.

Olivia and her parents fought the decree in court. 1.5 years later, a judge ruled in favor of her right to *present religious themes* in a talent show.

So, how receptive to a federal legal ruling were the satraps running Frenchtown's schools?

As can be expected, they ceased running any more talent shows!

I understand that despite one's past errors, they must always forge ahead with what they think is right at the time - referring to this family's legal battle.

But still, I have mitigated sympathy for those who outsource the mind control of their precious brood AND then complain about the limits of their education and self-expression.

The same goes for people who are fighting to get creationism and intelligent design taught alongside the evolution religion in science textbooks.

They are fighting a battle that need not be fought. Even plenty of outright heathens know the virtues of *walking away*.

Look, these kids are going to be messed up as it is on account of the government being involved in their education. The last thing they need added to that mess is some ridiculous religious mythology which can only cause even greater confusion.

And "intelligent design"? Sorry, that's wishful thinking nonsense, NOT science. Christ on the Cross, the scientific integrity of this nation is pathetic enough as it is without demanding equal time for fairy tales.

I don't see how kids hearing that song sung will *mess* them up. I just don't.

Note that I don't advocate *equal time* for any of the religions. I advocate parents teaching their own kids whatever it is they see fit.
